ASHLEIGH GORDON, viola
Ashleigh Gordon is a violist who has been described as a “charismatic and captivating performer.” She has performed with Grammy-nominated string ensemble A Far Cry string, appeared at the prestigious BBC Proms Festival with the Chineke! Orchestra, and on recordings with Ensemble Proton and Ensemble Modern. Gordon has performed internationally at venues in London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Switzerland, Paris, Hong Kong. Gordon is cofounder and Artistic Director of Castle of our Skins, a Boston based concert and education series devoted to celebrating black artistry through music.
Chelsey Green, violin
Chelsey Green has been described as a "passionate, electrifying, and innovative" violinist that breaks the mold. A Houston, Texas native, Green has made her career as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, entrepreneur, and educator in both classical and contemporary music. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, as well as the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture’s opening ceremony. Artists she has appear with include Stevie Wonder, Wu-Tang Clan, Kirk Franklin, Questlove, and Maimouna Youssef, among others. Green is currently an Associate Professor of Strings Berklee College of Music and Artistic Director of her own touring ensemble, Chelsey Green and The Green Project.
Mariana Green-Hill, violin
Mariana Green-Hill is the Founder and Director of the Four Strings Academy Program. She is currently head of the strings department at Boston Arts Academy, Boston’s only public performing arts high school. In addition to being a multi-prize winner at the Sphinx Competition, she has received the Sanford Allen Award for excellence in arts. She has been a guest soloist with the New Jersey, Memphis, Detroit, and Boston Symphony Orchestras, and has appeared with noted artists Yo-Yo Ma, Pamela Frank, Lynn Chang, and Marcus Thomson. Green-Hill received a bachelor and masters degree from the Juilliard School and a professional studies diploma from the Mannes School of Music under the tutelage of Stephen Clapp, Ann Setzer, and Ida Kavafian, among others.
