Hope: Reimagined—A Florence Price Birthday Celebration Featuring Boston Conservatory Chorale and Wellesley College Choirs

The Boston Conservatory Chorale and the Wellesley College Choirs join forces to celebrate Florence Price’s birthday at Knight Auditorium on the Babson College campus. Central to the celebration will be a reimagined arrangement of Price’s “Song of Hope,” for choir and theater organ (a nod to her work as an organist for the silent film industry), and the premiere of her “Sea Gulls” for treble voices and chamber ensemble. The program will also explore her connection to local pedagogue and composer Frederick Converse, who was a student of Josef Rheinberger.
