What has been your favorite Boston Conservatory/Berklee College of Music collaboration?

The collaboration that I loved most was the Michael Jackson Ensemble in 2024. The mix of Boston Conservatory and Berklee College of Music students made the performance the cream of the crop. The ensemble is a great opportunity for performers and artists to show skills that may not be able to be showcased in the classroom. From the dancing, soloists, musicianship, and producing/creative crew, the ensemble is a true representation of the merger and collaboration happening between all majors and campuses.

What has been your favorite piece of student-led work at Boston Conservatory?

My favorite piece of student-led work is without a doubt  the choreography showcase (which is led by musical majors but not limited to only musical theater students). It’s amazing to see your peers create pieces and be able to just have fun—letting go of the stress of being graded, and being able to create for the sake of expression rather than academic satisfaction. Every year, I am in awe of the work that is showcased!

What is your favorite studio or space on campus, and why is it special to you?

I love the Ipswich Street dance studios. Ironically, it was where we rehearsed the Black Student Alliance’s production of Dreamgirls last fall. The studios have huge windows showcasing a beautiful view while working, giving us another perspective of the city we live in, and creating an openness to space that can sometimes feel closed in with the mirrors. I have so many memories in the Ipswich dance studios because of the process of Dreamgirls. Every time I enter the space, it is a reminder of what these studios are meant for; and that is, to create and enhance our crafts/skills.
