Writer's Stage: Meet Me in the Bathroom
What happens when an “innocent” picture with your favorite teacher becomes the biggest scandal the school has ever seen?
In the girls’ bathroom of a suburban high school, five teenagers are forced to reckon with their pasts as they begin to bleed into their hopes for the future. When rumors spread and friendships fracture, the truth becomes increasingly difficult to separate from the stories everyone has already decided to believe; and the only person willing to help may be the former best friend who has since become their greatest antagonist.
Navigating conflict of Greek tragic proportions, Meet Me in the Bathroom is narrated by a teenage Greek chorus of band geeks, cheerleaders, goths, skaters, jocks, and everyone in between. Funny, messy, and painfully familiar, the play gets to the heart of what it means to be a teenager—and to watch everything you’ve known fall apart around you.
Meet Me in the Bathroom is a new play by Cassie Seinuk, directed by Dori Robinson.
