Tina Mitchell joined the Conservatory in 2021 teaching Movement for Actors. Mitchell has worked internationally as a performer, educator, and theater maker in the United States, Australia, Colombia, Chile, and New Zealand.
In addition to her work at the Conservatory, she is an adjunct theater lecturer at Barnard College and Brown University, a movement faculty member at Maggie Flanigan Studios, a teacher with the SITI Company, and a guest instructor at Atlantic Theater School for NYU. Mitchell also works as a visiting professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá, Colombia. She has conducted workshops at many other international institutions including San Francisco State University, University of New Hampshire, Unitec New Zealand, University of South Australia, and Flinders University, among others.
A graduate of the Adelaide College of the Arts, Australia, Tina holds a Master of Arts Practice specializing in performance and has trained extensively with the SITI Company, the Suzuki Company of Toga, and at HB Studios. She has worked and performed around the world with such companies as the Metropolitan Opera, La Fura dels Baus, the English National Opera, and SITI Company at the Park Avenue Armory, and was part of the cast of the Obie Award-winning immersive theater production Sleep No More (Punchdrunk, 2011). Based in New York City, her independent productions have toured to theaters and festivals across the world including the Napoli International Arts Festival, Steppenwolf Theatre, and La Mama NYC.
